Surprising? Indeed! Actually, it’s true, according to dictionary.com the Ampersand or the character & used to be the 27th letter of the English alphabet during the early parts of the 1800s and concluded the alphabet in English.
Panagram: Complete the alphabet in a single sentence
Sentences that consist of all the letters of the English alphabet are known as Panagram. Though writing a Panagram in conversational English is quite rare. But they are usually, used as fun wordplay.
The most common one is “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”.
In the age of typewriters and also to an extent of learning computer typing this Panagram is mostly used. The reason is it has all the English letters of the alphabet. Thus, enabling the learner to learn all the letter-based keys to type smoothly on a typewriter or a computer.
